This role will oversee the start-up, operations, and completion of assigned packaging lines. Our Production Supervisors are essential to ensuring a safe, efficient work environment while providing real time coaching and mentoring to our packaging and production staff.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure safety procedures are followed by adherence to Company policiesEnsure front line quality check compliance to meet Company quality standardsRecommend measures to maintain safe operations, improve production methods, equipment performance and use of equipment to increase efficiency, quality and safety of the department or work crewStudy production schedule to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, codes, package number, planning sequence of production and other packaging requirementsCompose weekly staffing schedule based on production requirements to ensure efficient operations and minimal overtimeParticipates in the appropriate selection and usage of resources (materials, systems, utilities and equipment) required for the effective operations of packaging departmentConfers with management, other departments, supervisors, and operators to coordinate activities to assure a safe environment, quality product, and product operationsSuggest and initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve work goalsAnalyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problemsInitiate personnel actions, such as performance evaluations, and disciplinary measuresFacilitate daily debriefs with the packaging staffCheck and approve hours worked of hourly employees on the linesAssist in internal auditing, such as GMP, HACCP and SafetyEnsure compliance with Internal, Federal, State and local guidelines and regulations including GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA and TTBCheck the machinery of the lines for operational readiness and proper setupOversee the operations of the lines during productionDirect changeovers to assure proper materials are used, proper amounts are produced and proper codes are used per the BOMFrequently review the operator quality assurance checks throughout the shiftAt shutdown, be present to assure the proper length of run and that all machinery, conveyors, air, CO2, water and chain lube is shut offTake case counts and recordMake out work orders for repairs or improvements needed on the linesSupervise training of employees in operations, safety, quality standards, GMP's and HACCP proceduresMinimum QualificationsMinimum High School education required; BA/BS in Business, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, preferredAt least 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environmentAdvanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly MS ExcelAbility to coach and mentor large teams to successFront line supervisory experience, a plusExperience in a high-speed packaging environment, a plusWillingness to work flexible shifts including weekends when necessary to cover the needs of the business **This is a 6pm to 6am Shift**City Brewery is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all applicants will be considered without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.
