Position Summary: The Head Bartender at Club Room oversees the quality control of the bar operation. This position is responsible for training the bartenders, servers, and bussers to ensure they consistently execute our standards of guest service and beverage quality and efficiency. The Head Bartender has excellent communication and guest service skills, along with the ability to create both classic and original cocktails, and demonstrates a deep understanding of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Head Bartenders at Club Room have vast capability with bar tools, understanding of ingredients, and meticulous management of workspace. To be a successful Head Bartender at Club Room, you must have a well-groomed appearance and an engaging, friendly personality with team members and guests. A Head Bartender must provide efficient service, be able to operate with speed during service, and find opportunities to engage guests and showcase/upsell our beverage programs. Role Responsibilities: Own the guest experience, welcome, and listen to guest preferences to ensure guest satisfaction. Lead the classic and original cocktail training with team members, ensure they have the tools they need, and quality control/coaching is maintained consistently, shoot the look book and ensure made available at each bar station. Provide genuine, professional service as defined by Club Room's service culture. Follow through with guest requests; ensure service is timely, accurate and maintains a high service standard. Train new team members on bar program - bartenders and servers Maintain a meticulously clean/organized workspace, in accordance with look book standards set, and inventory par levels, above DOH standards. An eye for detail along with the ability, understanding, and skills of drink mixing and techniques - pour with a jigger, mix to proper dilution, and utilize proper shaking techniques. Prepare alcohol or non-alcoholic drinks per specification books and training, for our bar and lounge guests. Ensure ach bar is set up to look book standards every shift, this includes back bar, bar shelves, bar counter and coffee areas. Set and serve guest dining setups, offer an in-depth understanding of the beverage and food menu and Hotel services offered. Maintain current TIPs training. Check identification to ensure guests are all the legal age to purchase alcohol. Accurately handle cash, credit and room charge transactions. Follow safety guidelines. Maintain wastage. Maintain 18% beverage cost or lower. Ensure items are not out of stock and inventory remains current (daily) for all bar ingredients and supplies/tools. Work with FandB Manager for any performance concerns, report and document I.e. uniform, lateness, quality control issues, speed challenges or any other challenge that prevents the team member from maintaining our standards Qualifications: 5+ years of experience working in high volume and fine dining with specialty cocktail program. Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages - origins, creation and character. Mixology knowledge, understanding and ability to use bar tools effectively to create craft cocktails. Excellent in guest service, and the ability to maintain professional service during peak periods. Knowledge of food and all allergies related to food and beverage. Experience maintaining DOH standards above and beyond what is expected. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal Provide legible communication. Must be TIPs certified. Ability to: Excel in all guest service opportunities. Anticipate and understand guest's service needs. Ensure the work area is properly set for service, as directed by management. Complete accurate inventory and maintain par levels for all required ingredients and tools behind the bar. Maintain department of health standards throughout shift and a clean workspace. Deep clean workspaces during downtime and before checking out on every shift Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment, while demonstrating ownership of the guest experience Follow directions thorough to completion. Multitask while preparing beverages for guest as well as dealing with high volume of service. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team to build team morale. Expected to complete task in timely manner. Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Compute basic arithmetic Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, carry multiple objects.
