Head Baker - Artisan Bakery (Chicago, IL) We are a well-established artisan bakehouse in Chicago seeking an experienced Head Baker to lead our team. We specialize in high-quality, handcrafted bagels, breads, and baked goods, using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate baker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is eager to take ownership of production and innovation. Responsibilities: Oversee daily production. Lead and train a team of bakers and support staff to ensure quality and efficiency. Maintain high standards for product consistency, texture, and flavor. Manage production schedules, inventory, and ingredient ordering. Work closely with management to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings. Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Maintain and troubleshoot baking equipment as needed. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of professional baking experience , with at least 1 year in a leadership role . Strong expertise in bagel-making, bread baking, and fermentation techniques. Ability to manage high-volume production without compromising quality. Leadership skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach. Experience in scheduling, inventory management, and cost control. Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends as needed.
