Overview Pearlman, Brown & Wax LLP is seeking a full-time associate attorney admitted to the State Bar of California with 0-5 years of experience interested in the specialized litigation practice of workers' compensation law. Our firm is a respected 40-year workers' compensation and employment law firm representing multiple employer clients across the State of California. We have offices in Encino, Oxnard, Orange, San Diego, Concord and Sacramento. We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role requires exceptional legal research skills, proficiency in legal writing, and experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis. After becoming proficient in workers compensation law through our unique in-house training program, the Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in court, conducting trials, and managing all aspects of litigation. Responsibilities Represent clients in litigation matters before the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and related appellate matters. Conduct thorough legal research using Lexis-Nexis to support case strategies. Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions and briefs. Prepare for and attend court hearings and trials; present evidence and arguments effectively. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide sound legal advice. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate. Maintain organized case files and documentation in accordance with law office protocols. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases. Qualifications Admission to the California State Bar. Strong legal writing skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly. Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
