Job Title: Security Engineer I Department: Information Technology FLSA: Exempt General Function Utilize business knowledge and technical experience to protect information assets and brand image. Monitor and configure systems and logs related to IT security. Work with system, network, database, and development administrators; communicating alerts and issues. Assist in the monitoring, development, and implementation of IT security policies and standards. Utilize various tools to regularly test and audit system, network, data, and application protections. Operate as part of a team to accomplish initiatives. Complete tasks designed to ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets. Protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction and develop IT security policies and standards. Work with end users to determine needs of individual departments. Implement policies or procedures and track compliance throughout the organization. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Core Competencies Partnerships Growth mindset Results oriented Professionalism Reporting Relations Accountable and Reports To: TBD Positions that Report to you: TBD Primary Duties and Responsibilities Supports security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, web filtering, etc. Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations. Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits. Writes and reviews documentation. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics Intermediate level of core competencies. Experience and Education Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports) None Physical Requirements Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Equipment Used to Perform Job Laptop and desktop computer, telephone, copier, fax, printer, PC with Microsoft Office programs and other software relevant to specific position.
