About the Position: This role is an on-campus, in-person position at the SMU Simmons School of Education & Human Development. The Academic Technology Services Director (ATSD) designs, delivers, and advances technology solutions required to support instruction, research, and online programs. Essential Functions: Maintain strategic planning awareness and documentation for Simmons School. Assist the academic community in managing technology changes related to hardware and software solutions. Keep abreast of operational IT desktop support and classroom technology service issues. Provide tech leadership in identifying and integrating innovative technology solutions. Manage a team of student employees dedicated to providing technology solutions. Provide front line support to Simmons faculty for using the SMU learning management system (Canvas). Establish communication between the Academic Technology Team and other departments. Assist Academic Technology team members as a cross-functional resource. Learn new applications and provide mentoring, training, and coaching to faculty and students. Respond to classroom technology issues and communicate training best practices. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Master's degree required; degree in technical instructional design, research support, or data sciences preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong technical background required. Familiarity with technologies across learning environments is essential. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
