Passion for our mission and vision is required! This position is within the Lunar Permanence business unit, responsible for developing Blue Origin's various Blue Moon lander product lines. In order to further Blue Origin's mission of seeing millions of people living and working in space, we are creating sustainable infrastructure for the transportation of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Travel: Position nominally has about 10% travel with infrequent select periods up to 50% to support testing at remote sites. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage and oversee the Electrical Power System Test Engineering group, supporting a variety of test initiatives that include acceptance and qualification at the component level as well as full vehicle integration. Recruit, hire and manage a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. Mentor and develop staff, identifying training needs and career growth opportunities. This role is designed such that 30% of its responsibilities involve people management. The team will be maintained at a manageable size to ensure that the manager can provide adequate attention and support to each employee. 70% of the role will focus on technical management and team guidance, in addition to performing test engineering duties. This includes supporting and overseeing the integration of hardware and flight software, reviewing requirements, creating test plans and procedures, carrying out tests, analyzing data, and preparing test reports. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees. 6+ years of experience in at least one specialty area applicable to aerospace. Strong understanding of electrical components, systems and integration and test principles. Demonstrated leadership in establishing a high-performing safety culture. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with verification, integration, and test, of orbital vehicles or human rated spacecraft. Demonstrated drive to correct errors at their root and not pass them downstream. Demonstrated effectiveness in implementing continuous improvement for processes, methods, and practices. Familiar with agile project management. Experience with space vehicle design development and test.
