We are currently seeking the following position to join our team in the Houston, Texas area. APPLICATIONS ENGINEER Position Summary: **** The Applications Engineer will provide customers with world-class support, both technically and commercially. Provide quotes for products, parts and field service and provide practical solutions for field issues. Understand valve applications for specific industry sectors such as Oil and Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical, Mining, and Power. Apply sound engineering practices, with the ability to communicate at highly technical levels to successfully gain customer trust. Duties & Responsibilities: Size, select, and price technical control valve solutions based on requests from customers, channel partners, and outside sales team. Provide technically sound and commercially accurate quotations to all customers and channel partners. Interpret a variety of data and requests from external & internal customers, furnished in written, oral, diagram, and other forms. Communicate with internal/external customers daily regarding order status and expedite requests as necessary. Support new product development with input, review, and technical feedback based on real world experience and voice of the customer. Collaborate with engineering, operations, sales, quality, and finance to review & resolve customer issues. Support manufacturing quality by cataloging customer issues and working with design and manufacturing engineers to implement corrective actions. Skills / Knowledge / Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Distribution or equivalent. 5+ years experience in Control Valves, Ball Valves and/or Severe Service Applications. Solid understanding of the control valve market with ability to interpret and apply applicable industry standards. Ability to interpret P&IDs and process data to accurately size and select control valve solutions. High level knowledge of valve components and manufacturing and assembly methods. Proficient use of control valve sizing and selection tools (ConVal, Fisher, Performance, etc). Microsoft Office Applications Experience (i.e.: Projects, Excel, Word, etc.) Must be able to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task and set priorities. Must be detail oriented and have good analytical abilities. Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical and commercial material at all levels (internal and external to the company).
