$45,000- $60,000 Potential Annual Salary The State Director for CEF of Massachusetts Inc will be responsible for fulfilling the purpose of Child Evangelism Fellowship , executing the vision of the Massachusetts state board and USA Ministries while overseeing all aspects of CEF Ministries. The primary ministries offered through CEF are Good News Club , 5-Day Club , and Christmas Party Club . General Responsibilities A State Director is responsible for fulfilling the purpose of Child Evangelism Fellowship Inc. by: Executing and accomplishing the plans and objectives of the State Board. Overseeing all ministry in the state. Providing accountability and support to the local chapters within the state. Developing an effective prayer ministry. Caring for, shepherding, and uniting the CEF family. Specific Responsibilities Develop qualified people to establish CEF chapters to perform the ministry of evangelizing children in cooperation with local committees. Recruit qualified staff to do the work of the ministry. Make regular trips to local chapters to meet with local staff and committees to provide encouragement, counsel, and direction. Aid local directors in developing their strategic plans. Implement and carry out a state training plan that will help local chapters perform their duties. Assist local chapters in their fundraising endeavors to accomplish the plans and objectives of the state board. Provide training and assistance to local directors and committees to raise funds for the local chapter. Conduct employee reviews once a year and develop growth opportunities for staff. Work to develop leadership skills in local and state staff. Develop a succession plan in cooperation with the state board. Administrative Responsibilities Actively tell the story of CEF in the local community. Present new chapter charter resolutions to the state board and USA Ministries. Present local directors to the state board for approval. Submit local chapter budgets to the state board for approval. Ensure reports, minutes, money, and other communications are forwarded to the proper offices in a timely manner. Develop an effective strategic plan for the state. Work with the state board to develop a budget yearly. Ministries Supervision Conduct retreats and conferences. Participate in children's ministry. Work through issues with local chapters. Communicate regularly with the state board. Qualifications Possesses leadership qualities as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Demonstrates love for Jesus Christ, prayer, and a passion to reach children with the Gospel. Has prior and proven leadership experience. Is a continual learner, relevant, big-picture thinker, and strategist. Genuinely loves people and demonstrates an understanding of how to lead and build a diverse team with skills, experience, and culture that can work together well. Able to mentor, cast vision, and evaluate all aspects of state ministry. Loves the local church and other Christian organizations and values them as ministry partners. Completed or will complete 12 weeks of Children's Ministry Institute . Administrative and has a shepherd's heart. Comments The state board in Massachusetts is looking for an individual within the CEF family who would be able to fulfill the role of state director in Massachusetts. We are looking for someone who would be able to shepherd state office staff. The individual would need to have a servant's heart and be able to organize, lead, and develop the state ministry base. Requests specific to this state: A teachable spirit. Loyalty. Ability to preach/teach the Word. An understanding of the New England mindset, both in churches and the world at large. A good listener and ability to articulate an answer that demonstrates understanding. Leadership in a local church and ministry. Proven skill in building relationships both with groups and individuals. Expression of compassion for children and their need for salvation. Comfortable with children. Experience in CEF and 1 year of Bible college preferred. Good administrative and computer skills. Experience with budget processes and raising support. Willingness to be active in the various CEF ministry activities. Willing to live in eastern MA and travel statewide.
