About the Team You will join our new Learning Packaged Content Atlanta team, working closely with our Dublin/Ireland team to build scalable and reliable solutions to handle and deliver rich content packages (SCORM/AICC etc). We are looking for a highly motivated DevOps engineer to help Workday deliver reliable, resilient SaaS products to our customers. The Packaged Content team is responsible for the architecture, maintenance, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring of services that support all standards-based eLearning content within the Workday product. About the Role This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government, which mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). As a Software Engineer, you will design and write software and work on innovative cloud platform technologies (AWS, GCP) impacting millions through our diverse global client base. You will also work closely with our DevOps Engineers in deploying changes to our engineering environments. What will you be doing? Design and develop software that enables end users to consume media content. Contribute to gathering technical requirements and architectural decision making. Mentor other developers by sharing your expertise. Innovate on new products and features that can reach millions of users. Respond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution. Retro and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes. Deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and in-depth code reviews. Drive process and tooling improvements. Work on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitments. FedRAMP deployment and support. Basic Qualifications 4+ years of working knowledge of one or more major programming languages including Java and Python (Other desirable languages Kotlin, Scala). 4+ years of proven experience delivering and scaling production quality software. 4+ years of experience using architectural patterns and standard development methodologies. 2+ years of experience in successfully delivering cloud-based web applications in AWS. Other Qualifications A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to analyze and support complex distributed systems. Knowledge of technologies and patterns used within AWS including EC2, Lambda, S3, Aurora RDS, and Terraform. Experience debugging and optimizing systems and code. Ability to influence and affect technological change at the team level. Experience with FedRAMP environments is desired. Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process.
