Join our dynamic software development team as a Lead Java Developer-AWS, where your expertise will drive the evolution of innovative software solutions. Your role is pivotal in coordinating efforts with fellow technical leaders and senior engineers to establish and uphold industry-standard software design guidelines and best practices. Staying at the forefront of technological advancements, you'll champion the integration of cutting-edge developments into our projects. We are made up of high-performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you'll be assigned to a Broadridge office and expected to be in the office 2x a week. Responsibilities Coordinate with other technical leads and senior engineers to establish consistent software design guidelines and standard methodologies for the software development team. Stay informed of the latest developments in areas of relevant technology. Emphasize the practice of unit testing in all development work along with documentation and developing automated unit and integration tests. Follow all relevant Broadridge policies to ensure the security and privacy of data. Participate in agile ceremonies - daily stand-up meetings, weekly sprint planning and review meetings, team design sessions, code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, devise software testing strategies, plan software product improvements, and monitor and report on project progress. Apply coding using best software engineering principles, including detailing software design and code. Deliver accurate efforts and estimates for assigned development tasks, and review estimates for tasks assigned to others. Work with the QA team to help diagnose possible bugs and guide them about testing requirements associated with new code changes. Lead and collaborate within a team, communicating between team members and engineering leadership. Qualifications: 7+ years of application programming experience using Java principles, services, and methodologies. 5+ years of experience with REST API development, debugging and testing in an AWS environment. Deep knowledge and at least 2+ years hands-on development in AWS Glue. Python and Java 11+ proficiency"”preferred. AWS SDK with Java and Python- preferred. Some experience in designing Swagger using JSON & YAML languages. Proficient in logging frameworks incorporating best application logging practices. Experience in performance considerations for batch applications to support high volume. Hands-on experience with Java web application frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot or Micronaut. 2+ years of proven ability within a programming and applications system environment developing AWS components spanning AWS SQS, EC2, S3 bucket, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, Cognito, and CloudWatch. DynamoDB and Aurora DB Experience preferred. API Integration experience, such as using HTTP request/response, authentication concepts. API tools such as Postman or Fiddler. Hands-on experience designing Swagger using JSON & YAML languages. Some experience with SPA design and architecture using Angular or React. Java Concurrency/Multithreading experience a plus. Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins. Exposure to Git and JIRA preferred. Experience working in Agile teams. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline. Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $160,000 - $175,000.
