Modernization Contract/Applications Engineer Location: OT325: NSP - BLOOMFIELD, CT 212 WEST NEWBERRY RD, BLOOMFIELD, CT, 06002 USA Job Title: Modernization Contract Engineer Role Overview: Provide the engineering necessary to customize building-specific elevator control systems. The successful candidate will take contract specific data provided by the Otis local office and translate that information into a design specification. The engineer will use this information to design a building-specific elevator system starting with a base configuration utilizing schematic capture tools to create a custom wiring diagram. They will also create specifications for the factory to build a customized controller, set software parameters for the specific configuration and interface with the Otis local office staff to ensure the customer's requirements are satisfied. On a typical day you will: Engage in the customization of building specific Modernization systems Support field and manufacturing teams to build solutions Respond to field questions in an effective & timely manner Identify & resolve technical issues within project documentation and specification What You Will Need to be Successful: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required Demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal and communication skills Self-directed with excellent practices, processes and procedures Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize Sound Engineering background including wiring diagrams, systems analysis, motor and machine applications and control logic Fundamental understanding of Control System Logic and Power Electronics Understanding of mechanical and software functions ECAD tools (Cadence, E3, or others.) Strong communications skills MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment on individual assignments, must be self-motivated, capable of working with little supervision, willing to take a leadership role when resolving technical issues and must be a team player who works well across various departments. Excellent customer service, communication (verbal and written) and computer skills are required. The ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously is essential. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
