Job Description Summary: The Vice President & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a dynamic and visionary leader responsible for driving the transformation of OhioHealth's core technology resources. This role is pivotal in ensuring that OhioHealth remains at the forefront of technological innovation by leading bold technology initiatives that enhance our digital presence and revolutionize patient care. The CTO will oversee all core infrastructure across OhioHealth's footprint, including data centers, networking, and information security. This role demands a leader with an unrelenting drive for excellence, capable of inspiring and mobilizing teams to achieve extraordinary results in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Required) University bachelor's degree in computer science or business administration. Master's degree considered a plus. Ten (10) plus years of experience managing and/or directing technology operations. Seven (7) years of experience working in the healthcare industry and/or academic health science center environment. Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development. Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, programming, media, and desktops. Solid understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities. Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications, including server virtualization, ASP hardware environments, SANs, PANs, systems optimization, etc. Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support. Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations. Excellent understanding and practical application of project management principles. Proven experience in planning, organization, and development. Superior understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems. In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues. Responsibilities and Duties: Information Security Program: Oversee the Information Security Program with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) reporting to this role, serving functions such as Security Operations Center, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Identity Management, and Infosec Engineering. Computing Engineering & Operations: Manage Data Center Engineering, support and operations, and develop a cloud computing strategy. Enterprise Networking Engineering & Operations: Oversee corporate and care site foundational infrastructure management, enterprise voice & data services, and voice and data engineering services for all OhioHealth facilities. End Point Management: Manage overall corporate endpoint deployment and lifecycle. Strategy & Planning: Participate in senior management, lead strategic technological planning, collaborate with departments to develop technology plans, and direct disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Acquisition & Deployment: Assess risks, develop business case justifications, define requirements for new technologies, review acquisition contracts, and communicate corporate procedures. Operational Management: Stay updated on industry trends, improve technology standards, act as a liaison for technology vision, resolve technical problems, manage budgets, supervise technical staff, ensure continuous service delivery, and oversee patenting of intellectual property. Global Staffing Models: Leverage global staffing models and optimize team members across offshore, nearshore, and onshore associates to ensure efficient and effective delivery of technology services. Data Center Management & Modernization: Oversee the management and modernization of data centers, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of infrastructure. Implement best practices for data center operations, including disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Cloud Engineering Vision & Strategy: Define and set the vision for cloud engineering, including the development of a cloud-first strategy. Lead the transformation from legacy systems to scalable cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with OhioHealth's technology transformation and growth objectives. 5-Year Technology Transformation Plan: Develop and manage a comprehensive 5-year technology transformation plan that includes asset management and detailed cost analysis. This plan should outline year-by-year total cost of ownership, ensuring transparency and accountability in technology investments. The plan should cover all facets of foundational technologies, including server compute, networking, and infrastructure, and provide a roadmap for transitioning from legacy systems to modern, scalable solutions.
