Are you seeking a dynamic leadership role in Tax Accounting within a growing company? Our client, a prestigious financial services organization with a rich history, is looking for a Director of Corporate Tax. This leader will oversee federal income tax accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with ASC 740, SOX 404 requirements, and other regulations. Title: Director of Corporate Taxation Location: Stamford, CT (Hybrid) Key Responsibilities: Direct corporate income tax accounting and reporting in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Oversee corporate income tax compliance and related operational tax functions. Assist with audits by taxing authorities and participate in tax planning and special projects. Manage and review income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740. Prepare disclosures for GAAP financial statements and perform complex regulatory tax calculations. Ensure compliance with tax requirements for tax-specific entities (SPEs). Research complex tax-related matters and implement changes due to new tax laws and regulations. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices related to tax provision and compliance processes. Facilitate the exchange of documentation with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including SOX 404 and internal audits. Participate in tax planning projects, integration of acquisitions, and other special projects. Mentor and develop tax staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; an advanced degree is preferred. CPA with a strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting. Approximately 7 - 10 years of federal tax experience, including a combination of Big 4 tax and large corporate tax department experience, preferably in the financial services industry. Proficiency in managing income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740. Experience with tax provision software (such as Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud or OneSource Tax Provision) or data analytic tools (such as Alteryx) is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
