Direct message the job poster from Appleton Finn Senior Business Consultant - U.S. Dairy Products Manufacturing Job Summary: The Director of Engineering will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across our dairy production facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient plant operations, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, managing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dairy processing, automation, and food safety standards . Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the engineering and maintenance teams to support production goals. Oversee equipment maintenance, facility upgrades, and capital projects to enhance efficiency. Develop and execute engineering strategies that align with business objectives and sustainability goals. Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, PMO, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements in dairy processing. Drive innovation in automation, process optimization, and energy efficiency. Manage budgets and cost controls for maintenance and capital expenditures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to optimize operations. Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance production capabilities. Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships for equipment and service procurement. Ensure workplace safety and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field). 10+ years of engineering experience in the dairy, food, or beverage industry. Proven leadership experience in managing teams and large-scale projects. Strong knowledge of dairy processing equipment, automation, and regulatory requirements . Experience with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies . Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and other industrial software tools. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or related certifications. Experience in wastewater treatment and sustainability initiatives within the dairy industry. Strong understanding of HACCP, SQF, and GMP compliance .
