Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Portfolio Systems Architect to join Bose Automotive Engineering. This individual will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our technology portfolio and platforms, ensuring alignment with both current and future market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements. The position will help define and orchestrate activities across Product Management, Research, and Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a deep expertise in software and system-level architecture, portfolio management, and collaboration skills. This position requires a strategic thinker who can articulate the technical approach needed to bring our product roadmap and vision to life. Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary interface between Product Management and the technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment at both the roadmap and portfolio levels. Translates and/or converts the overall product roadmap and vision into a cohesive technical strategy, engaging key subject matter experts (SMEs) as required to gather insights and input. Primary technical partner to Product Management, helping to inform and build product and portfolio strategies and roadmaps. Lead the evaluation of top-level approaches to product development, making informed trade-offs related to make-vs-buy decisions, reuse versus new solutions, and other architectural considerations. Owns the creation of the overall, top-level "˜block diagram' of how the entire product(s) and experiences are achieved with close collaboration of cross-functional SMEs and SW Platform Architects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with technical approaches and product delivery. Develop and maintain architectural documentation that outlines the system architecture, technical strategies, and decision-making processes for key projects. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the overall strategic direction is innovative and competitive. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience as a Systems Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role, particularly in a portfolio or product line capacity. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans that stakeholders can understand and support. Experience with trade-off analysis in software and systems development, particularly around make-vs-buy, and resources/complexity. Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset, able to think critically about trade-offs and conflicting requirements. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency with architecture frameworks, design patterns, and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Agile, etc.). Previous experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment is a plus. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of software development practices and methodologies. Familiarity with various technology stacks, architecture patterns, and computing platforms common to the automotive industry (for Infotainment, ADAS, etc.) including E/E architecture, automotive SoCs, and software stacks. Knowledge of audio signal processing (DSP) and audio systems and architectures. Exposure to project management tools and techniques.
