Lead Software Engineer, Trading Engineering, FactSet Research Systems Inc., New York, NY. Manages people or projects within the Trading Engineering department. Designs and develops software programs to meet business requirements, performs unit tests, and fixes bugs within the Trading engineering department. Duties include: grasping the functions of each component within the application, understanding the interactions and dependencies among components, and communicating these concepts to developers. Implements and reviews code changes in accordance with business requirements. Works closely with product and client teams to understand the requirements and come up with technical solutions. Works in an agile team environment and coordinates with all other departments (Product, QA, Doc, AM, Support, and Sales). Recognizes potential reuse in the organization or in the application by observing the broader system environment and having knowledge of other applications in the organization. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves production issues. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and at least 5 years of software engineering experience in the finance or electronic trading space. (In lieu of stated education and experience, will accept Master's degree or foreign equivalent in stated fields and at least 3 years of stated experience). Must have experience with the following: firm understanding of Java 1.6 - 1.8 core APIs, including collections, multi-threading, XML, and middleware technologies. Proven hands-on design and implementation experience in high-volume, high-performance real-time systems. Knowledge of financial equity or derivatives products, market data feeds, trade lifecycle and post-trade processing, portfolio management, or Order Management Systems. Knowledge of Swing, JMS, J2EE. Must have full software engineering life cycle experience. Basic pay range: One hundred seventy thousand dollars to two hundred thousand dollars per year for full-time employment (Mon. - Fri. 9-5).
