POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Impact & Innovation Associate - Center of Transformation DEPARTMENT: Impact & Innovation REPORTS TO: Director, Center of Transformation STATUS: â’ Exempt X Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY This position is integral to the success of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) Impact & Innovation department, specifically the Dr. Sachiko Kuno Center of Transformation (CoT). The I & I Associate will provide support and direction for activities provided within the Center of Transformation program and other program areas such as STEM, Workforce Readiness, and Advocacy to educate and raise youth awareness of global issues, such as global climate change. This role is based at Shared Services and follows a hybrid model, with primary focus on supporting I&I -related programming. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development: Collaborate with the I&I team to contribute creative insights and serve as a thought partner for the development of impactful programs. Cross-Functional Support: Extend support beyond CoT programming to various I&I initiatives, providing assistance in planning, coordination, and execution. Direct Support: Offer direct support to program leads and coordinators, ensuring smooth implementation and delivery of high-quality programming. Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, updating calendars, record-keeping, attendance tracking and monitoring, technology maintenance, material shipments, and storage management. Communication Hub: Serve as a point of contact for parents and club staff, ensuring clear and effective communication channels. Training and Networking: Participate in monthly training and/or Network meetings (as assigned) for the sharing of ideas and issues that support collaborative projects for I&I programming. Curriculum Contribution: Contribute to the development of emergent curricula and best practices across various I&I programs. Event Collaboration: Collaborate in the planning, coordination, facilitation, and execution of the CoT Summit and other special BGCGW events (e.g. Spelling Bee, Reality Store). Outcome Measurement: Actively participate in program and service outcome measurement processes, aligning with BGCA's commitment to quality. Grant Identification: Identify CoT-related grant opportunities to enhance program sustainability and growth. Technology Curriculum Development: Help develop emergent technology curricula and best practices. Program Delivery: Deliver high-quality and engaging CoT and other programming as assigned. Guidance and Role Modeling: Provide programmatic guidance and role modeling to members, as assigned. Field Trips: Lead and facilitate departmental field trips for their respective Clubs. Productive Work Environment: Ensure a productive work environment by participating in monthly staff meetings. Office Hybrid Model: Follow a hybrid work model, spending agreed upon days at the office to provide focused support on club-related programming. Travel: Travel between sites and to activities as required. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Undertake other duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability and a willingness to contribute across various facets of I&I operations. RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Maintain daily contact with Club staff, I&I team members, and supervisors to facilitate information exchange, address issues, and provide guidance. External: Establish and maintain connections with external community groups, schools, parents, and other stakeholders to enhance collaborative problem-solving. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Four-year degree preferred Minimum of five years' experience Passion for Impact: Strong passion for making a positive impact on youth development. Versatility: Ability to support diverse I&I programs beyond specific arts-related initiatives. Youth Development: Knowledge of youth development principles. Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Technology: Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications (e.g. Tik Tok, Blooket, Kahoot, Instagram, and more) Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, coordinate, and support high-quality programs. Supervision: Capability to organize and provide support in a safe environment. Certifications: Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. Driver's License: Valid State Driver's License. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is based at Shared Services and follows a hybrid work model.
