Senior Engineer

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC - Senior Engineer in Raymond, Ohio Oversee complete automotive vehicle and component level testing, project management, and junior engineers for complex phenomena, including Corrosion, Environmental Exposure, Closure structures, Body In White Structure, and Complete Vehicle Underbody Components. Document and review junior members' test results using Excel and PowerPoint to meet internal standards. Understand the system phenomena and determine the root cause of test failures in order to develop countermeasures to achieve a passing result. Determine test failure root causes through strain gauge fatigue analysis and advise junior engineers to do the same. Determine test failure root causes through physical part to specification drawing analysis. Work closely with the computer simulation team to deeply understand test phenomena and the root cause of test failures. Lead countermeasure discussions with the design, simulation, and manufacturing groups to ensure proper implementation of the countermeasure to drawing specifications. Perform in-depth drawing layout checks against requirement standards to judge performance prospects prior to conducting physical testing with minimal oversight from senior leadership. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering 3 years of experience in automotive testing 3 years of experience in CATIA 3 years of experience conducting the analysis of information, drafting engineering specifications, and evaluating their effectiveness for assigned complex parts to inform engineering and manufacturing work in the organization and/or its suppliers, ensuring functional safety standards are achieved 3 years of experience conducting research using primary data sources and selecting information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends in technical evaluations 3 years of experience conducting complex root cause analyses to understand and react to testing and simulation results 3 years of experience in designing engineering solutions for assigned test parts and systems and the associated drawings and validation processes, and related software and systems expertise 15% travel to domestic and/or international locations.
