What we do: The AppSec Testing Automation team works across Amazon to research classes of security risk that require both proactive and reactive solutions to keep Amazon systems and data secure on behalf of the Amazon customer. Our internal customers range from security engineers who need a comprehensive understanding of Amazon systems and their security state, to service teams who need solutions that make it easy to build and operate secure systems. We use the latest technology, including AWS, to solve security problems at Amazon scale. We employ testing automation and machine learning to reduce, or eliminate, manual effort to help our internal customers raise the security bar. What you will do: You will work closely with your customers, partner teams, and product engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed. You will disambiguate complex topics and work with engineers across Amazon to accurately identify solves that keep Amazon secure. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive key engineering and business decisions that achieve the right outcomes. You will help drive work forward across numerous security teams. Successful candidates for this position must have experience working with customers to understand their needs, decompose those needs into executable roadmaps, and drive execution to deliver the needed outcomes. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, able to dive deep into the technical designs, and ensure delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to think big to develop a plan and invent mechanisms that scale to meet the broad and diverse needs of teams across Amazon. Security experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Key job responsibilities Build and contribute to our roadmap(s): Identify customer needs, technology/industry trends, challenges, use cases, trends, and related services to help build a roadmap of security testing automation deliverables for our customers. Manage ambiguity: Independently take steps necessary to understand complex technologies and customer use cases across a variety of customer personas and product categories to produce meaningful insights that drive improved customer experience. Drive complex security research: Lead proof of concept experiments based on unaddressed security problems. Own the full study lifecycle, including scoping, design, data collection and analysis, and presenting a comprehensive written narrative of insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with internal technical stakeholders (e.g., technical product managers, software developers, solution architects, business intelligence teams) to execute studies and work cross-functionally with peers/colleagues globally to support training, best practices, and shared opportunities. Develop and own core program metrics, drive deliverables on behalf of our stakeholders and customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
