Terracon is growing and seeks a Senior Engineer to join the team in our new Grand Rapids office. This is a fantastic opportunity to help contribute to the rapidly growing development of West Michigan and grow our consulting engineering practice. Our Senior Geotechnical Engineers will provide engineering and consulting services for transportation projects, which may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines. Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Provide technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects. Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate engineering work involving conventional engineering practices. Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques. Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on state-of-the-art technology issues. Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects. Serve as an Authorized Project Reviewer and mentor for less experienced staff. Requirements: Minimum 8-11 years' experience. Professional Engineer (PE) registration. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Transportation experience with DOTs is preferred.
