This role will focus on guiding clients through complex matters related to Title IX, Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP), and other legal challenges in education. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and employees while navigating the intersections of education law and workplace rights. Duties: Provide legal guidance on issues related to Title IX, UCP, labor and employment, and student services. Advise educational institutions, employers, and individuals on legal compliance, policy matters, and dispute resolution. Represent clients in administrative proceedings, including investigations and hearings related to educational and employment complaints. Draft legal documents, including complaints, responses, motions, and other related materials. Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client decisions. Counsel clients on legal risks, ensuring they are well informed and prepared for all phases of litigation or settlement. Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop strategic solutions and provide exceptional service to clients. Requirements: Active membership in the California State Bar. At least 2 years of experience in education law, with a focus on Title IX, UCP, student services, and/or labor and employment law. Strong skills in legal research, analysis, writing, and client counseling. Ability to effectively communicate complex legal issues in an approachable and clear manner. A detail-oriented approach to legal work, combined with a strategic mindset. Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications: Active membership with the California State Bar. Skills: Expertise in education law, particularly Title IX and UCP, as well as labor and employment regulations. Excellent legal writing, research, and drafting skills. Strong communication and client management skills. Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively. Collaborative team player with a positive and approachable demeanor.
