Employee Relations Specialist -9181-305-N 191 Joralemon St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA Job Description Posted Friday, January 17, 2025 at 5:00 AM Employee Relations Specialist For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Under the direction of the Employee Relations Manager, the Employee Relations Specialist counsels management and staff on Agency policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and labor relations practices and guidelines. Recommends disciplinary action based upon facts presented by management and in conjunction with policy and/or CBA. Provides the Associate Director with assistance in conflict resolution and providing training to supervisors and managers in performance management of staff. The Employee Relations Specialist works in partnership with the HR team in coordinating, implementing, and maintaining human resources systems. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. Must have 3-5 years progressive experience in Human Resources. Experience working with labor organizations preferred. Knowledge of HR practices, federal, state and local employment laws required.
