Job Description: We are looking for an ambitious Founding Lead Backend Software Engineer based in New York City to help Rove build a best-in-class engineering organization. Your core responsibility will be enhancing our guest booking software and building a property management system purpose-built for the modern luxury homeowner. You will work directly with the CEO and CTO on product development and be a leader in the engineering organization to bring each product to market. You will code directly as well as manage staff on our engineering team. At Rove you will: Build features for a best-in-class, responsive and performant booking platform that implements the engineering principles you want. Lead feature development and integrations for property management software designed for luxury properties (e.g. guest screening software, a security deposit system, etc.). Apply best practices on QA, testing, dev ops, CI/CD, and deployments. Handle all infrastructure and deployments. Build an amazing engineering culture. Who we're looking for: You have 4+ years of experience in software development. 2+ years of engineering experience building products at a startup. You love staying on top of modern tools in software engineering and applying them (e.g. AI). You are scrappy and comfortable working across the tech stack. You are excited about bringing an engineering org from 0.1 to 1. You have product sense and like to build unique and beautiful customer-facing applications. You have experience in React, Node.js, and AWS. You value strong communication and collaboration. Compensation: Base salary of $150,000 "” $250,000 per year. 0.5% "” 1% equity.
