The Popal Group is a growing family-driven boutique hospitality group setting the standard for DC dining through ambitious restaurant concepts. We are currently seeking an experienced AM cook to help join our kitchen team at Lutí¨ce. The AM cook will work a combination of prep and on the line. We are a small restaurant, and aim to be the 'neighborhood' place that is sought out by locals and world travelers alike. Role and Responsibilities: Demonstrates a passion for food preparation and excellence Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions. Clean up station and take care of leftover food. Stock inventory appropriately. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion. Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers. Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen. Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant Requirements and Qualifications: 1+ years of experience working in restaurant kitchens Knowledge of professional cooking principles, current applicable food codes and other relevant safety regulations Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus Weekend and evening availability
