We specialize in sustainable infrastructure, water management strategies, green building design, and systems-based solutions for infrastructure and landscapes.Role SummarySherwood is currently seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater (W/WW) Engineer to support our growing, progressive, and dynamic civil and environmental engineering firm. The Senior W/WW Engineer will work as an integral part of Sherwood's W/WW team, reporting directly to the Principal in Charge. This candidate will be asked to develop and lead high-quality, cutting-edge sustainable engineering solutions for our clients including process evaluation, facilities planning, engineering design, permitting & compliance, construction administration, and operations planning.Minimum RequirementsTypically 10+ years of professional experienceUndergraduate degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical engineeringStrong water/wastewater technical background, including in-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes including for water reuse and resource recoveryExtensive knowledge of all project phases including master planning/pre-design, conceptual design, detailed design, construction administration, start-up and commissioning, and operations.Experience in preparing and advancing plan set packages through all project phases including providing redlines for draftersExperience with water/wastewater process modeling simulation software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X)Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, Google Apps, ClickUp, Dropbox, SharepointPreferred Skills15+ years experienceGraduate degree preferred in Civil, Environmental or Chemical engineeringExperience in a consulting environmentProficient in AutoCADExperience developing water/wastewater controls designs (process and instrumentation diagrams, controls narratives)Certifications or other sustainability-oriented accreditation (LEED, Envision, Living Building Challenge, EcoDistricts)Expected OutcomesPrepares/reviews calculations, design criteria, and technical memorandumsWork across teams and engage subconsultants as needed to implement quality assurance and quality control through all project phases.Plan, assign, and direct work of junior engineers to meet project deliverablesContribute to staff development through training and mentoring; appraise performance.Create and implement innovative design techniques that enhance company productivity of assignmentsEnsure engineering designs are in compliance with current applicable regulationsWork closely with internal project team in development of construction documents for all scales of site developmentManage development of illustrative exhibits, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reportsServe as an effective interface between client's project team and consulting team, conveying technical information in a timely and professional mannerWhat We OfferOwn a part of the firm with ESOP eligibility after one yearFlexible working - hybrid schedule and every other Friday offCompetitive Health plans, including PPO and HMO options, Dental and Vision plansLearning and Development stipend to use as you see fitGenerous PTO and 8 paid holidaysFun team events, lunches, and happy hours to get to know colleagues outside of workA tangible opportunity to truly help the environment!CompensationThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
