Job Title: Professional - Clinical (Non-Nursing) Job Specialty: Radiology CAT Scan Job Duration: Not specified Shift: Evening M-F 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. / alternating weekends Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Not specified License: NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required Certifications: - ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph (R) and/or (CT) certified - NMTCB registered (CNMT), passing advanced CT examination /certification within one year from date of hire - BLS certification through the American Heart Association Must-Have: - Graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program - Documented training and experience in operating CT equipment and radiation physics and protection - Continuing education requirements: 24 ECE credits over a two-year period, depending on the year of birth - DOH IV certification preferred or completion within a six-month orientation - Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology Job Description: - Perform routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists - Prepare, operate, and maintain the imaging equipment and processes images/CDs - Adhere to radiology standards of care and principles of radiation protection - Assume responsibility for assigned duties and areas - Participate in hospital-wide customer service programs, quality assurance, and other duties as assigned - Understand and adhere to performance standards, policies, and behaviors - Prepare and position patients correctly and produce technical images - Assist physicians as necessary and perform equipment quality assurance - Work during emergency procedures and provide shift coverage as needed - Maintain cleanliness of work areas and report equipment malfunctions - Process images and perform routine office duties - Notify transport services when patients are ready for transfer - Serve as an instructor or preceptor if assigned - Treat all individuals professionally and courteously - Educate patients and family members about procedures - Provide care to different patient populations, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatric groups - Attend staff meetings and in-service training - Perform standby or on-call tasks for emergency department coverage and other duties as required - Stay informed about department-specific protocols and policies
