We are an elevated American restaurant in the heart of the West Village, looking for dependable, hard working individuals that want to grow professionally within this group. Must posess a strong sense of urgency, knowledge of meat temperatures as well as station management and DOH regulations. A minimum of two years experience working in an upscale restaurant setting or culinary school is required. Line Cook Job Type: Full Time Pay: $18-22 Based on experience Job Duties: Understand and follow the Department of Health Safety Standards Maintain solid knowledge of food products and apply culinary techniques Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner in compliance w/ DOH Guidelines Work as a team, assist Chefs and Cooks in the execution of service Follow recipes and presentation specifications Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Clean and maintain station in accordance with DOH Guidelines Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment Restock items as needed throughout the shift Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation Communicate with Chefs when product is low and needs to be restocked Kitchen Standards: Positive attitude with a willingness to help Open to feedback and hunger to constantly improve Open communication with Chefs and Cooks Maintain personal hygiene Ability to remain professional in fast-paced work environment with coworkers and guests Required Skills: Knife Skills Food Safety Knowledge Safety Procedures Knowledge Food Handlers Certificate
