Adjunct Instructor ArchitectureDepartment:Hillier College of Arch & DesignReports To:Department ChairPosition Type:FacultyPosition Summary:The NJIT School of Architecture is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classes in the Architecture program on an ongoing basis. Qualified applicants not able to teach a class in a particular semester would continue to be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given the learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned.Essential Functions:Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty and administration on student progress throughout the semester.Prerequisite Qualifications:Must possess a design-related Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree with appropriate industry experience.Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred. Depending on the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience in creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on knowledge of course topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of CNC manufacturing and the ability to teach CAM, use of digital drawing software to produce and evaluate design work, etc.).Bargaining Unit:AFT-UCANFLSA:Non-ExemptPart-TimeSpecial Instructions toApplicants:Applicants will need to include in their application a CV and cover letter and should indicate which course(s) they are interested in teaching from the online catalog.
