Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Database Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation team based out of Melbourne, FL. As a Database Engineer, you will support our Cyber team and contribute to the full product lifecycle for a software development and test environment. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional communication and collaboration skills, to effectively manage database systems and support the team's automation initiatives. Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Leveraging your expertise in SQL and Postgres to architect, design, and optimize database systems. Being at the forefront of driving automation initiatives, utilizing tools such as Ansible and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM) to streamline and orchestrate complex database operations. Harnessing the power of scripting languages, specifically PowerShell and Python, to develop robust automation solutions, enhance system efficiency, and automate routine database tasks. Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline AND 5 years of qualifiable professional/military experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of qualifiable professional/military experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience. Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs, prior to the start of employment. Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent). Demonstrated experience with SQL and/or Postgres and managing/optimizing database management systems. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in implementing automation solutions using Ansible and MCM to support operational processes. Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for crafting efficient automation scripts and executing database operations. Experience working with DevOps Processes and Cloud Infrastructure. Systems administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments. Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability. Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $157,200.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
