Senior Cyber Security Specialist - (20183) Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Specialist Program & Department: Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre -> Reg Digital Health Operations -> Cybersecurity Loc Del Grp Regular / Temporary: Regular Full / Part Time: Full-Time Union: Non Union Salary Plan / Job Grade: $56.88 - $66.92 (NU_09) Job Posting Reason: New Position Job Summary: Reporting to the Regional Manager, Cyber Security, the Senior Cyber Security Specialist plays a key role in delivering RVH's cyber security program mandates and operational goals within the Regional Digital Health (RDH) team. The Senior Cyber Security Specialist contributes to the development, execution and maturity of RVH's cyber security program and serves as a senior security subject matter expert to the organization, as well as to Central Region North Local Delivery Group (LDG). This role is also responsible for supporting Central Region North LDG related initiatives and goals. As part of this role, the Senior Cyber Security Specialist develops, implements and matures the required tools, technology and processes to implement key activities and deliver on program plans. Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience. Certifications in cyber security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 or CISA) is required, or working towards. Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in: Cyber Security Defense tools and technologies (such as IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Assessment tools, IDAM, Incident Management tools, endpoint detection and response (EDR), SIEM technologies, threat intelligence exchange (TXX), Email Security Platforms, Privileged Access Management (PAM)). Security Defense Strategies, Cyber risk management, 3rd Party Risk Assessment, Vulnerability management, Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA), TXX and Incident Response, IR playbook and architecture review. Responsibilities: Be a subject matter expert for cyber risk assessment for IT Systems, applications, networks, mobile and Biomed devices. Perform cyber security risk assessments for 3rd party vendor systems and services. Maintain Risk Registers and facilitate in performing cyber security risk assessments and developing specific cyber security countermeasures and risk mitigation strategies. Perform risk analysis whenever an application, system, or service undergoes a major change. Provide expertise and support on how to build and deploy secure solutions or placing compensating controls for business and technical challenges. Evaluate cyber security aspects of contracts, RFP, service agreements, etc. to ensure compliance with RVH's standards, contractual, legal and regulatory requirements. Provide an accurate technical evaluation of software applications, systems, or networks and document their compliance with agreed cyber security requirements. Maintain the currency of the RVH security program by reviewing and/or updating security standards, tools and configurations. Work with vendors to evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives. Provide expertise and security advice to the development of cyber security plans, roadmaps, policies, frameworks, standards, manuals and other deliverables. Identify cyber security dependencies in project/product deliverables and provide guidance for planning and delivery. Embed risk assessment and security testing into the project lifecycle to ensure continuous improvement and compliance. Collaborate with internal peers, local programs, and health sector stakeholders to ensure alignment of security practices, controls, patterns, and solutions to mitigate identified risks and gaps. Conduct Security Awareness Campaigns such as October awareness month for RVH and LDG members. Stay current on security landscape and threat vectors and assess new security trends with respect to RVH's business needs and identify opportunities to improve the security posture of RVH services.
