* ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES* Major Responsibilities * Under supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, serve as a technical resource person in the diagnosis and correction of computer, telephone and peripheral hardware problems including scanners and printers. * Respond in a timely manner to user concerns and problems. * Provide IT related support at various sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City. * Observe and control the operation of computer and peripheral equipment. Check indicators and determine proper functioning of equipment to resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring timely and courteous service. * Configure, repair and troubleshoot handheld Android devices. * Support MS Windows Virtual Desktop and iGel. * Work with vendors to perform troubleshooting. * Maintain and upgrade systems, replace outdated ones and install new systems. * Ensure that all work orders assigned are filled out properly and closed in a timely manner in the system. * Perform administrative work, including maintaining service records and inventory control. Four years of full-time, satisfactory journey-level experience, acquired within the last ten years, in the maintenance, installation, or repair of telephone communications systems and equipment; or 2. Three years of full-time experience as described in "1" above, plus graduation from a recognized vocational or trade high school, with a major sequence of courses in electrical or electronic technology; or 3. Two years of full-time experience as described in "1" above, plus an A.A.S. degree from a community college or 60 college credits in a major sequence of courses in electrical or electronic technology. 4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. License Requirement A Motor Vehicle Drivers License valid in the State of New York. Employees must maintain the license for the duration of their employment. Special Note To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, candidates must have, in addition to the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience in Assignment Level I or in a supervisory capacity. Preferred Skills 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related IT service management, process management, operations. 2. Strong customer service, communication, and organization skills. 3. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. 4. Proficient knowledge and understanding of Windows OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and proprietary Parks programs. 5. Working knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server administration. 6. Basic knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager. 7. Wiring knowledge (running and making CAT5/6 patch cables) and a basic understanding of Ethernet hubs and switches. 8. Working knowledge of IP routing, DNS, DHCP and LDAP. 9. Micro Certified Desktop Support Technician Certified. 10.
