This is a high-impact position that will play a key role in building Surgo's top-of-funnel BD strategy, executing market research, and supporting key partnership initiatives. We are looking for a strong leader that has deep knowledge of healthcare (Global and US), is passionate about the application of innovative data driven and AI solutions and products to drive impact, and is a versatile strategist that can creatively think about solving problems. This is a high-visibility, strategic role for someone eager to roll up their sleeves and make an immediate impact in a fast-moving, innovative healthtech environment.What you'll achieve:Manage Business Development effortsDevelop and execute Surgo's BD strategy for key target markets in partnership with the CEO.Conduct market research to identify client targets, whitespace opportunities, and industry trends.Lead prospective client outreach, ensuring follow-through and execution.Support the VP of BD in pharma and broader BD efforts across healthcare.Support end-to-end sales cycle preparation, including researching client needs, conceptualizing ideas, preparing decks, and external communications.Drive strategic initiatives and Strengthen PartnershipsIdentify and develop new partnerships that align with Surgo's mission.Support capital-raising efforts, including investor research, pitch deck development, and deal tracking.Stay ahead of market and competitor trends, ensuring Surgo remains a leader in healthcare innovation.Ensure BD strategies integrate across teams, investors, and key external partners.Enhance CEO EffectivenessOptimize the CEO's effectiveness by preparing for meetings, tracking key initiatives, and ensuring strategic alignment.Act as a cross-functional connector, supporting BD execution across teams.Support external communications with the Board, investors, and partners.Track and analyze key business metrics to measure impact and progress.About you:We're looking for a high-energy leader with deep passion for application of data and AI to healthcare and who can blend strategy, execution, and healthcare expertise to drive real impact.4-7+ years of experience in healthcare; consulting experience requiredProven ability to apply data-driven solutions to healthcare initiativesStrong market research & analysis skills"”able to translate insights into strategyProven success in client outreach, partnerships, or sales pipeline development.Highly strategic & execution-oriented"”able to see the big picture while managing details.Exceptional communication & storytelling skills"”decks, presentations, and outreach.Self-starter with a 'can-do' attitude and entrepreneurial mindsetStartup and health tech experience is a plus.Passion for healthcare innovation, AI, and global health (US & international focus).Ability to work across multiples time zones given the nature of the work and travel schedule of the CEO.Location:Headquartered in Washington, DC, this role requires an in-office presence at least two days per week, with the flexibility to come in on additional days as needed, as well as flexible hours.What you'll love about Surgo:Fantastic, fun and collaborative colleagues; opportunity to solve tough challenges in healthcareAbility to be entrepreneurial and tremendous opportunities for growthPublic Benefit Corporation with an impact and equity missionCompetitive compensation and health benefitsGenerous PTO, 10+ holidaysHighly competitive 401K3 months paid parental leaveProfessional Development opportunitiesSurgo Health is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent practices.
