We strive for a healthy work-life balance and a dog-friendly environment.Position Description:This position requires California commercial electrician certification.The Superintendent acts as the primary leader and manager of field construction on a project. The Superintendent manages specific parts of the project budget (e.g., field labor, equipment) as defined by the Project Manager.Responsibilities:Ensure every project meets or exceeds the client's expectations as defined in the Project Mission.Implement and monitor the Safety Plan for the project and ensure all subcontractors comply with it. Create and implement site-specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).Collaborate with the Project Manager and Lead Engineer to create project milestone schedules.Plan, coordinate, schedule, and dispatch specific crews and individual installers to jobsites to perform field work activities per the project schedule.Complete projects on time, within budget, and with minimal follow-up (punch list).Optimize the profitability of the company through field planning and efficiency without jeopardizing quality, safety, or timely completion of the project.Walk through projects with the client and Project Manager for punch list. Monitor and complete outstanding issues: company punch list then client punch list.Review BOM (bill of materials) and verify correct materials delivery in time to maintain workflow.Perform site walks and pre-construction evaluations.Coordinate deliveries, handling, storage, and placement of materials on the jobsite.Review and analyze Cost Report Information.Oversee daily time reporting, review, and approve Forepersons' hours through our timekeeping application (WorkMax) to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance of reported time.Manage, develop, and support Forepersons in their accountabilities (e.g., organize their work, execute safety programs, meet the clients' project mission, report on jobsite progress, and approve timesheets daily).Assess Forepersons' performance, providing constructive feedback on what they are doing well and specific areas of improvement.Work in close collaboration with HR to address any disciplinary issues and establish performance improvement plans, if required.Respond promptly to payroll's requests for correction to time reporting.Review and approve Forepersons' requests for time off (PTO and UTO).Recruit, interview, and hire in coordination with HR and their reporting manager.Set and manage clear expectations for crew members, including performance improvement plans and, if necessary, firing crew members in coordination with HR.Responsible, with the Project Manager, for project conformance with the agreement and Contract Documents (plans, specifications, clarifications, etc.).Prepare and manage the company's designated project management and collaboration apps for all assigned jobs, which will include current plans, contract docs, and photos.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:ACTIVE CALIFORNIA COMMERCIAL JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN STATUS REQUIRED.Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.Experience managing teams to meet deadlines on time and on budget.Proven experience managing work sites and crew members, including providing appropriate action and coaching to improve behavior and/or performance.Previous experience teaching Installers the basic practices of PV.Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and Electric Code.Ability to commission PV systems and troubleshoot common problems (i.e., ground faults, polarity).Basic carpentry skills.OSHA 10-hour training or equivalent.Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs.Ability to work in extreme environments (hot sun, light rain, crawl spaces or attics, steep roofs in a harness).Licensed, or willingness to become licensed, to drive forklift, scissor, and boom lifts.Current CA driver license with acceptable driving record.Ability to lift at least 75 pounds; comfortable climbing ladders and working at unusual heights.Four-year college degree or equivalent.Benefits:Sun Light & Power offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:Health:Sun Light & Power offers 8 different medical plans through Health Net and Kaiser.Dental:Sun Light & Power covers 100% through Beam.Vision:Sun Light & Power covers 100% through Beam.Long-term insurance:Sun Light & Power covers 100%.FSA, HSA, and Commuter program.13 PTO days, 9 paid holidays.2 paid days for volunteering.401(k) retirement plan:Sun Light & Power will match 50% of 401(k) deferments, up to $1,000.$500 annual stipend for tuition.Company Stock:Sun Light & Power annually allocates 8% of our 1,000,000 issued shares of the company to ESOP Participants based on a formula considering the number of employees, employees' years of service, and employees' total compensation.
