Job Summary As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for establishing and maintaining the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) automation plant to support the software engineering teams. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable automation solutions to enable rapid development, source code configuration management, automated testing (code quality and security) and deployment. Responsibilities Work closely with the agency development teams to understand their application architecture and build requirements to properly implement CICD pipeline templates for their applications. Migrate applications from a legacy code management/defect tracking system (CA Harvest) to a more distributed model (GitHub/Azure DevOps). Join a growing team establishing the platform of the future for software build and deployment across all the State of New Hampshire agencies. Help develop training materials and lead training workshops for the software development teams. Establish best practices for code management and code deployment to cloud-based infrastructure. Integrate unit and regression testing as part of the automated build pipeline. Work closely with internal software developers, external partners, and service providers to ensure systems are stable and reliable. Provide customers with the best transformation experience possible. What you'll need Strong communication, collaboration, and training skills. Work experience programming in .Net (Visual Studio 2005 to present), Java, JavaScript, Python, PowerBuilder, YAML. Proficient experience/knowledge with cloud technologies, specifically GitHub and Azure DevOps. Previous experience supporting software build and deploy tools. Previous experience working with development teams delivering in sprints and Kanban. Strong knowledge of code management systems and version control software, preferably GitHub. Expert knowledge of software builds, including experience implementing deployment pipelines. Ability to read build output and work with developers to repair build failures. Strong understanding of test processes and test strategies including test automation. Hands-on experience automating code quality and security scanning and testing. Hands-on experience migrating from legacy code management/build and deploy systems to a GitHub/Azure DevOps environment. Commitment to the highest customer service and ethical standards. Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards. Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings.
