We're proud of our more than 80-year commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client/members and creating an atmosphere where our employees thrive.What You'll Do: As a Property Claims Representative, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling assigned claims involving property lines of insurance coverage (farm, home, apartment and commercial). You must investigate the cause of the loss, interpret the policy, and determine whether the loss is covered and if Farm Bureau should pay the claim. You will also determine the value of the loss and assist in setting reasonable reserves. As a Property Claims Representative, you must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, engineers, restoration specialists, general contractors, attorneys, and others.The assigned territory will be in the Emporia, KS area. What It Takes to Join Our Team:**Will be filled at the appropriate level based on experience**• College or equivalent plus 1+ years of relevant experience is required. Insurance, agriculture, and basic building material knowledge is helpful.• Continued progress towards industry education and maintenance of designations is expected.• Must have high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a good work ethic.• Exceptional customer service skills are required - including strong verbal and written communication skills.• Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.• Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and fully appraise all physical aspects of the property and buildings, which includes climbing on ladders.• Must have valid driver's license and the ability to travel. Typically, travel is during the workday (50%+) for field appointments within your assigned territory but may also include limited overnight travel.
