The Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in support of the operations and maintenance of the Authority's portfolio of stations, facilities, and structures. Major assignments will include the development of engineering plans, designs, specifications, and standards for various engineering projects, conducting studies, surveys, and cost estimates, procuring service-related contracts, and conducting facility inspections.Responsibilities:Develop engineering designs, specifications, and standards for modifications or repairs to the various facilities and systems of the Authority.Troubleshoot identified operational deficiencies; develop and implement resolutions as required.Develop and train junior engineers to inspire professional growth; delegate work assignments appropriately to achieve successful outcomes and achieve the Authority's mission.Ensure assignments are completed safely and according to established schedules and operating standards.Review drawings and specifications for capital projects as appropriate to ensure operational excellence is included in the design process.Develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure operational excellence is included in the maintenance of facility systems.Provide program status reports to senior management for all assigned tasks as required.Coordinate the planning, scheduling and implementation of all testing performed for the purpose of improving the reliability of facilities and system components.Monitor the reliability of major systems and selected components.Lead the development and procurement of professional service contracts.Conduct site inspections of systems and materials to verify quality; and prepare required reports.Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority's driven by customer service quality standard.Direct and check the work of others in lower classifications.Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist at emergencies, service disruptions, and/or other events as needed.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Minimum Requirements:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in facilities, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering.Five (5) years of engineering experience.Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop a diverse workforce.Effective organizational, analytical, time management and multi-tasking skills.Working knowledge of CAD, Word, Excel, Main Frame or Database applications.Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders and customers.Possess excellent customer service skills.Possess excellent problem-solving skills.Possession of a valid driver's license without infractions in accordance with MBTA policy.Demonstrated ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.#J-18808-Ljbffr
