Scion Nonprofit Staffinghas been engaged to conduct an immediate search for aDirector of Individual Givingon behalf of our client, an impactful nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering equity by providing access to arts, education, health, and economic opportunities inWashington D.C.This is a full time, direct-hire, on-site opportunity with benefits!Responsibilities:Responsible for expanding the institutional funding portfolio by conceiving the strategy, then identifying, designing, and winning funding opportunities from foundations, corporations and government agencies.Forge partnerships with organizations to generate both restricted gifts and general operating support.Oversee all aspects of the pipeline, including competitive bids for grants, agreements, contracts, reports, and sponsorship proposals.In coordination with the Senior Director of Development, lead organization in envisioning and implementation of corporate giving strategy to expand the donor base and build an institutional giving program of sustaining supporters.Works with the leadership to develop and execute an ambitious and comprehensive institutional funding strategy for the organization.Works with teams across the organization to develop overall winning strategies through pre-application positioning, facilitating partner outreach and developing budget proposals in conjunction with team leads.Writes, edits and submits high quality donor communications and grant applications for funding opportunities.Ensures that grant submissions are up to the highest standards of writing, formatting, and adherence to formal requirements.Builds a network of contacts and relationships with foundation funders through networking activities.Proactively identifies, cultivates and stewards prospective and current foundation philanthropic partners.Ensures proper stewardship for current partners.Overseas all administrative and technical aspects of the pipeline, including conducting prospect research, tracking grant deadlines, and proposal calendars and managing records in CRM.Manages team of two Institutional Giving Managers, setting clear priorities with annual financial goals in mind, promoting professional growth through continuing education and coaching, and ensuring deadlines are met.Qualifications:5+ years of direct fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector with corporate, foundation, and government supporters preferred.Demonstrable record of cultivating and securing five- and six-figure gifts.Demonstrated supervisory experience.Compensation and Benefits:Competitive salary of $140,000 annually plus benefits including PTO, Holiday Pay, Medical, Dental, Vision and ability to participate in the 401(K) Plan!About Our Search Firm:Scion Nonprofit Staffing is an award-winning national nonprofit recruitment and staffing specialist for nonprofit organizations, foundations, associations, and educational institutions!
