This role manages the US tax team and will be responsible for overseeing US compliance, financial reporting activities (10Q, 10K, etc.) and tax planning, as well as providing strategic tax advice to support the firm's business objectives.ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance and Reporting:Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and indirect tax returns.Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.Manage tax audits and disputes with tax authorities.Tax Provision and Financial Reporting:Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and other relevant accounting standards.Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax provisions in financial statements.Collaborate with external auditors during the quarterly and annual audit processes.Implement and maintain effective tax controls and processes.Tax Planning and Strategy:Provide tax advice on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and restructurings.Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact.Identify and mitigate tax risks.Transfer Pricing:Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation.Conduct regular transfer pricing analyses and documentation to ensure compliance with international tax regulations.Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage transfer pricing audits and disputes.Team Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor the US tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including London and Tokyo tax teams, as well as other firm colleagues and external service providers, to support business objectives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in tax compliance, planning, and reporting, preferably within the financial services industry.Strong knowledge of ASC 740, transfer pricing regulations, and international tax laws.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.Preferred Skills:Experience in an investment bank or financial services firm.Advanced degree in Taxation or related field.Proficiency in tax compliance software and financial reporting systems.Compensation and BenefitsHoulihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is: $220,000.00-$250,000.00.
