Position OverviewThe Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is the foremost resource for doing business in Brooklyn, respected as a leader in advancing public policy, products, services and programs that support and promote a vibrant economy.NYC Business Solutions is a set of services offered by the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to help businesses start, operate and expand in New York City. Services include Business Courses, Legal Assistance, Financing, Incentives, Navigating Government, Recruitment, Training, Procurement, and M/WBE Certification. SBS contracts with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce to operate the Brooklyn Business Solutions Center. Since its inception in 2003, the Brooklyn Center has assisted thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs at no cost to help them start, operate and expand, and access multiple services to help them grow and run their businesses more efficiently.The Director of the Brooklyn Business Solutions Center is a direct report to the President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. The position is responsible for management of all day-to-day operations, strategy and partnership development for the Brooklyn Center, and provides ongoing leadership, vision, and support for all Brooklyn Center staff as they work to increase the reach and impact of the services they deliver.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead all day-to-day operations of the NYC Business Solutions - Brooklyn Center.Serve as the primary relationship manager between the Brooklyn Center and the NYC Business Solutions Program Management team at the NYC Department of Small Business Services.Ensure high-quality service delivery to the businesses that access NYC Business Solutions' set of services.Direct the Brooklyn Center's outcomes, marketing, business development, strategic partnerships, reporting, and project coordination.Provide primary oversight and strategic management of the Brooklyn Center's outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, spearheading corrective action plans, and working closely with key staff on strategies to improve overall performance.Supervise a highly motivated and self-directed staff of Account Managers who specialize in direct service delivery to small businesses.Oversee business development efforts for the Brooklyn Center, providing key insights and strategies around new business development and generating qualified leads for all service areas.Establish and grow mutually beneficial relationships with partners that can help the Brooklyn Center to extend and deepen its service delivery within the borough of Brooklyn.Serve as the key liaison between the Brooklyn Center and other Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce programs.Coordinate participation among community-based organizations, community boards, Business Improvement Districts and other relevant stakeholders in the interest of improving the access that small Brooklyn businesses have to support services.Attend morning and evening events in the Brooklyn community as needed, in the interest of strengthening partnerships and business development efforts.Handle organizational, programmatic and special projects as directed by the President and CEO.QualificationsBA or higherFive years of relevant leadership experience in a not-for-profit organizationGood writing and strong computer skillsOtherFull-time (exempt) positionSalary range: $112,000 with full benefits packageTo ApplyPlease send your resume and cover letter to .
