Smoke Jazz Club is hiring a Front of House Manager! This is a full-time, on-site, hands-on role. Qualifications: A minimum of two years of experience working as front-of-house/floor manager in a fast-paced, high volume restaurant A strong commitment to friendliness, hospitality, integrity, and customer service Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to diffuse difficult situations Ability to communicate to, motivate and manage staff with kindness, firmness, and a sense of humor Strong knowledge of /experience in food service Strong knowledge of/experience with cocktails and wine Ability to think critically and make smart, common-sense decisions in a high-pressure work environment. Excellent time management and prioritization skills (as well as the ability to multitask). DOH Food Handler's Certificate Proficiency in Google Suite Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed We are a small team and are nice-please be nice too! Duties: -Graciously and thoughtfully run our busy jazz club restaurant and bar/lounge, welcoming regulars, domestic and international visitors to NYC, music fans, neighborhood walk-ins, musicians, and VIP's. -Work closely with owners and assistant manager(s) to oversee daily front-of-house restaurant operations. -Work closely with owners and assistant manager(s) to coordinate private parties and rentals -Ensure that the music room and bar/lounge are clean and that the ambience (lighting, aroma, etc.) is aesthetically pleasing. -Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, schedule, evaluate, and motivate staff in a timely and efficient manner. -Manage, train, improve, record and analyze individuals' sales performance and check averages while maintaining high customer satisfaction. -Conduct pre-shift meetings. -Conduct cash tip keeping and reconciliation. -Manage time clock and submit payroll to payroll accounting service. -Manage POS and communicate with POS company about equipment, programming, and troubleshooting -Open and close the restaurant and complete accompanying tasks efficiently, accurately, and with an eye for detail. -Address guest needs, comments, and complaints professionally to ensure repeat customers and good customer reviews. -Uphold Smoke's policies and standards. -Uphold NYS sanitation/health regulations. -Ensure and maintain safe and secure working conditions/environment. -Foster teamwork between FOH and BOH. -Communicate daily with Chef about menu specials, counts, and possible 86'd items Experience in a theater / box office / live music venue a plus Experience in pre theater dining a plus Familiarity with MobileBytes POS system a plus Benefits and Perks: Health Insurance, 401(k), Paid Time Off after Six Months, Potential Bonuses
