City/State Norfolk, VA Overview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a AR Specialist I-Acute Care Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift Position Location: Onsite Position Summary: This position is responsible for the billing of insurance claims and the resolution of issues preventing the payment of outstanding accounts receivable, for assigned payer(s). Demonstrates a working knowledge of business operations. Positive attitude, attention to detail, questioning attitude, willingness to collaborate with leadership and other team members to continuously improve processes. Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET). Minimum Requirements: * A total of one year of experience across the following: billing or resolving insurance accounts receivable, adjudicating insurance claims, pre-registering or registering patients for healthcare services, handling calls in a customer service call center. * A healthcare certification from an accredited program or an Associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Extensive training provided for entry-level candidates and opportunities for advancement provided. .
