Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJob Summary:The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Production Manager in maintaining a positive work environment, which provides our employees with an efficient and quality work environment. The Production Supervisor assists in training, product knowledge, line setups, verifies machine centerlines and encourages safe work practices while demonstrated commitment to the companies guiding principles. The position of Production Supervisor directly supervises the entire Production floor workforce during their shift.Responsibilities of the Position:Employee SafetyCommunicate safety as the number one priority for employees by encouraging safe work practices and immediately addressing safety concernsPresent weekly Toolbox Talks to all employees to help instill a constant safety-based mindsetComplete accident reports for all safety incidents and perform root cause analysis using 5 Whys method. Monitor and ensure compliance with daily knife checkout log.Participate in monthly safety meeting and submit a weekly safety observation to Safety department.Efficiency MonitoringComplete OEE/downtime reporting in Mongoose application throughout shiftDocument machine settings and ensure they a compliance and use Forms application to track machine settings. Summarize shift efficiencies and issues in daily downtime email.Production DutiesMaintain a clean production floor with equipment, pallets, and personnel in proper positions.Participate in site DDS meeting and production department DDS meeting.Monitor job changeovers and complete checkweigher (machine) setups for new jobsApprove and signoff on job changeovers with Sanitation and Quality Leads Request, verify, and troubleshoot material availability thru proper ERP systemSubmit Helpdesk tickets for IT, HR, Facilities related issuesAssist assistant supervisors with lot code checks during shift startup and or lot changesComplete operations checklist for every line each dayManage reworks by verifying that they are completed timely, accurately, and safelyOversee waste control areas and ensure proper streams are followed by waste control personnel and line employeesMonitor and ensure meaningful value of bonus grids to confirm they provide the appropriate motivation for employees at the lines.Maintain excellent communication with production teams on different shifts so accurate information is appropriately shared. Assist with line trials when necessary.Fill in for employees on the lines for bathroom breaks, trainings, personal issues, etc., when necessaryEmployee ManagementMaintain a positive work environment to ensure creative werks is the employer of choice for all employees.Supervise activities of associate assistant supervisors, senior operators, team leaders/operators, and waste control personnelEnforce disciplinary rules and actions for employees and report to MSI onsite and HRMediate and deescalate conflicts between employees at the linesManage all other employee issues, including personal, performance, attendance, etc and communicate actions taken with MSI onsiteAct as translator between employees who have difficulty communicating with each otherApprove final daily scheduling and assigning employees to lines and review accuracy of hours posted in Mongoose.Monitor production indirect labor hours to ensure they meet budgeting standards and report to Production ManagerEmployee TrainingContinually coach and train assistant supervisors in new procedures and skillsOnboard new employees dailyAdminister Alchemy training for all employees yearlyContinuously instruct Team Leaders and Operators by leading monthly training meeting and managing continued alchemy training for employeesManage training of Team Leaders, Operators, general labor in new skills/tasks/job/policy requirementsManage and approve new Team Leaders and Operators promotions thru set define 4 week Learning Plan Collaboration with other Departments Work together with personnel in various operations departments to ensure the production floor runs safely and efficientlyCommunicate food safety concerns and potential quality issues with the Quality teamWork with Warehouse team to guarantee material is brought to lines in a timely manner and monitor accurate tracking of pallets (ghost pallets)Collaborate with Sanitation team to provide employees for sanitations and changeoversInform Maintenance team of machine/equipment issues Communicate with Supply chain about crew shortages and scheduling adjustmentsAct as main line of communication with Client Services by filling out new item forms for new jobs, detailing BOM concerns, and explaining any other relevant information and escalating other issues thru proper communication channels.Perform other duties as assigned by Management.RequirementsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to prioritize and organize workload. Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.Education and Experience:High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience/prefer BA/BS Working Conditions: Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 - 80 degrees.Physical Requirements:Operate standard office equipmentActive position that requires standing, walking, reaching and bendingLift up to 25 poundsSalary Description $70,000 - $90,000
