Annual Salary $69,535 - $96,307Key Responsibilities:Work as a member of the Flooring Plant Management TeamMaintain safe working conditions and environment, foster safe work behavior; take countermeasures and corrective action when needed.Understands QMS, and ensures adherence to quality standards, forms, and procedures.Ensures team members follow the correct operating procedures, policies and documentation requirements including, but not limited to product changeover, startup, operation, pre-use inspections, and shift change turnovers.Assist in troubleshooting technical problems, contacting maintenance and other support when needed.Safety:Promote excellent housekeeping.Monitor equipment operational integrity and compliance to design specifications.Foresight awareness for at risk behavior and conditions.Perform observations and monitor daily work practices.Enforce PPE, LOTO and other procedural safety requirements and compliance.Lead by example being good mentors and stewards; promoting safe manufacturing standards.Respond to and manage all safety incidents on your shift including proper notification and initial incident reporting.This position also has shift oversight responsibility for any plant operational emergency, including potential fire threats.Quality:Understands, supports, and demonstrates compliance with QMS and quality forms and procedures.Ensure all Quality Operator Checks are completed accurately and timely as defined in the QMS Standard.Re-enforce training for quality requirements with operators.Manages non-conforming product handling procedures to include notification, tracking and disposition. Provides root cause and correction action for any issued CAPA on their shift.Is familiar with common defects and provides useful feedback in daily shift reports to facilitate corrective actions by Operations, Maintenance or Suppliers.Understands Baumer inspection systems operation, set-up, and troubleshooting.Production:Maintains safe and efficient operation of all flooring lines to achieve daily targets as defined by the monthly production plan (Production Output, % Non-A, and % Uptime).Ensure productive pre-shift meetings with and among team members occurs to communicate performance relative to safety, quality, and productivity at shift change.Demonstrates competency in personal computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.Practical experience and working knowledge of SAP.Ensure operator downtime data entries are completed daily and 100% accurate.Provide accurate daily shift reports highlighting gaps and/or issues needing attention.Assist in providing coverage for planned and unplanned absences within your department, calling in additional resources and or realigning crew when necessary to maximize capability.Assist with skill competency development of team through the Pay Progression program, assessing skill levels and gaps of each operator and participating in development plans and execution.Promotes 5-S within department.Assists in monitoring test trials and providing samples as requested by test plan.Human Relations: Personal attendance should be predictable and a model for the team.Availability to work 12 hour rotating shift schedules, overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, plus respond to occasional off-hours callouts to ensure plant reliability of operations.Be fully responsible for attendance and payroll administration through ADP for the team to include disciplinary actions when required.Remain accessible and visible throughout the shift displaying a sense of urgency, practical decision making with sometimes incomplete information and the ability to exercise sound judgement in a demanding work environment.Address concerns with all employees that are experiencing negative performance through proper coaching and administering progressive discipline when required.Address observed behaviors that could be potential safety, quality, and performance risk taking countermeasures and corrective action as required.Ensure that operators are on "on task," working with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, focus and concentration.A problem solver who works well with other plant and company employees; a team player who requires minimal oversight, is flexible, resilient, and reliable.Must be able to interface with others at all levels, from executive to hourly.Must exemplify and apply the Swiss Krono values. Professional Experience:Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.Two or more years in Flooring Department Operator role or its equivalent educational or operational experience.2 - 5 Years of Leadership in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establishing and achieve goals.Education and specialized skills profile:High school diploma/GED required.Basic computer skills required.Must have excellent communication skills.Must be self-directed and capable of influencing others.Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.Environment and Behavioral profile:Candidate will be exposed to loud noise that may exceed 87 decibels.Candidate must be able to work in environments that include elevated and low temperatures with dusty conditions.Candidate must have the ability to multitask in a challenging environment.Must possess strong initiative, adaptability, innovation, communication, teamwork, and operational efficiency competencies.Demonstrates agility in execution - takes initiative, moves into action quickly. This job operates in a manufacturing environment.Be expected to stand for a full shift.
