DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will collaborate closely with mechanics to acquire the necessary skills for safe and efficient operation within an automotive garage environment. As an intern, you will develop competencies in general repairs and maintenance for cars and light trucks, assisting with or executing various repair tasks. You will also utilize power, hand, and air tools once you have demonstrated proficiency, while ensuring the cleanliness and servicing of your work area and tools. Adherence to safety protocols will be mandatory at all times. Your responsibilities will encompass general repair and preventative maintenance tasks, including oil and tire changes, brake inspections and replacements, exhaust system evaluations and replacements, suspension inspections and repairs, air conditioning diagnostics and repairs, as well as documenting repairs and interpreting work orders. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age.You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2024 - 2025 school year. Additional Requirements: Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.
