Maintenance Mechanic

The role of Mechanic 8 is to have efficiently running production and manufacturing equipment and assist with capital projects. THE ROLE In this role you will be responsible for: * Installation of material handling and processing equipment. * Change over and Setup packaging equipment. * Maintenance of the machinery. * Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems. * Effectively communicate with supervisors, other mechanics and outside vendors. * Help organize and maintain the parts supply inventory. * Perform all responsibilities with good safety and housekeeping practices. * Improve the performance and efficiency of the machines. * Effectively participate as a team member on various projects. Key Performance Indications: * % of distribution downtime * % of work order and preventive maintenance done on time * Improve safety/5S WHAT YOU'LL BRING We'd love to see candidates who have: Essential: * Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. * Associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar preferred Knowledge: Power wiring: * Replace a motor * Install a switch * Isolate power and lock it out * Use electrical test equipment * Terminate wires from a diagram * Isolate and repair a power circuit problem * Understand a power circuit blueprint Control Systems: * Trouble shooting * Program a process controller (temperature or motor for example) * Understand control circuit blueprints * Selecting the proper component on a repair or installation Shop Skills: * Works safely and cleans up after the part is fabricated * Operates a lathe and milling machine * Accurate use of measurement equipment * Welding * Use of all other cutting and finishing equipment * Can produce a quality part Production floor skills: * Trouble shooting * Knowledge of the machine and equipment used in distribution * Ease of understanding unfamiliar equipment * Change over performance * Ability to modify equipment to improvement performance People Skills: * Teamwork * Managing and developing people * Communication Creativity and Innovation: * Communicates effectively with supervisors, operators, outside visitors and peers * Self-starter * Innovator * Ability to learn and understand technical concepts * Takes direction well * Can handle change * Shares knowledge with others Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. This position requires the ability to work mandatory overtime to meet business needs either within the day and/or the weekend and business operates on multiple shifts. Work Environment: Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Heavy: Requires exertion of 51 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 26 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 11 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Duration & Repetitive Standards: Constant activity or condition exists up more than 2/3 of the time equivalent to more than 5.25 hours per workday or more than 40 minutes each hour.
