Job Title: Production SupervisorDepartment: OperationsReports To: Operations ManagerShift Schedule: 6am to 3:30pm Monday through Thur. 6am to 10am on Friday (or as needed). Schedules may be adjusted if needed to facilitate production schedule. Summary: Are you a fabrication lead, looking to take the next step from leading a small team of operators to helping lead a team of 30-40 different sheet metal fabricators? This position is what you are looking for. The Production Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all manufacturing activities including, but not limited to:• Maintaining and continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all production machines, employees and processes.• Ensuring that quality standards are always upheld, and processes are developed and utilized in a repeatable and cost-effective manner.• Identify operational deficiencies and opportunities for improvement and work with production employees and management to develop solutions related to manufacturing processes, equipment, communication, workflow and quality. Requirements: • Candidate must have 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead role over 10-20 employees in a fabrication and/or machine shop setting.• Must have a working knowledge of supply chain functions, material requirements planning, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes. • Experience with short runs, custom products and build-to-order projects is required. • Working knowledge of metal fabrication and machining is required. (Metal cutting, forming, welding, finishing, painting, etc....)• Must understand and read blueprints/CAD.• Must be able to give and receive constructive criticism to improve dialogue, performance, and team building.• Experience with ERP systems is required, (Epicor preferred). • Must have excellent communication skills and team building skills. • Experience writing, editing, and implementing processes in office and manufacturing environments, suitable for inclusion in an ISO quality policy. • EOS experience is preferred.• Experience running group meetings, preferably EOS L10s, Quarterlies, and Annual's. • Must live DSI core values- Can-Do Attitude, Deliver on Customer Expectations, and Fast Paced • Leadership responsibilitiesí˜ Conduct employee reviews, goal setting, and be able to create custom career growth plans with employees and communicate progress. í˜ Motivate employees and provide leadership and accountability. í˜ Provide clear vision to staff members in a positive mannerí˜ Help team members understand the overall business strategy and goals and identify with the team members so they may understand how they can contribute to the success of the company.í˜ Work with other management team to identify what if any changes need to take place within DSI. Share this information in a positive and a productive way to other staff members.í˜ Discipline staff when necessary. This includes verbal/written warnings and up to termination.í˜ Reward staff members when their performance is outstandingEducation or Certifications:• Prefer to have a bachelor's degree in operations management, manufacturing engineering or similar (Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, Supply Chain & Logistics, Business & Strategic Planning, Industrial Technology), or 10 years of direct, applicable experience. May be a combination of schooling and education.Skills/Abilities/Competencies:• Strong verbal skills with all employees in every department on various levels• Must be a problem solver and critical thinker. • Should be extremely organized, have extensive knowledge of leadership, management, operations, and general business functions.• Must be self-motivated and have a strong sense of priorities in business.• Must be able to communicate clearly, regularly, and effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers. • EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) experience is highly preferred. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, job packets and operational layouts as required on a variety of machines.• The ability to embrace change, new technology and processes.• Ability to work through daily operational activities that are changing consistently• Ability to plan effectively and execute the plans
