Hiring IMMEDIATELY ABOUT US: The concept of our restaurant is considered as an upscale new American "scratch kitchen" lead by our talented Executive Chef Devin Kreller, who is a 6-time Michelin Bib Gourmand winner. The kitchen is highly focused on farm to table by creating things by scratch with everything butchered in house, handmade pastas, as well as house made flatbreads with an old fashioned wood-fired oven. Chef Devin uses French-dominated cooking techniques and often uses a lot of multicultural inspirations for his dishes such as Asian and Italian to create new dishes. The demographic of our patrons that dine at our restaurant are mostly regulars that live in the area and often come back for years and years, as they enjoy the concept of our constantly rotating menu, where they are able to try new things, as well as a great deal of the patrons being LGBTQ+. With our constantly changing menu and new dishes being released on often short notices, it is vital for all service staff to be on top and constantly learning new menu items ine Cooks are responsible for the preparation, production and presentation of all menu items. Essential Functions Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction Ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces Key Responsibilities and Duties Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels Maintain food safety and quality standards Ability to read a thermometer correctly and efficiently Communicate any food delays or issues to Coordinator Maintain menu item counts and communicate to Management and service staff when quantities fall below restaurant specific minimum quantity Accurately account for all items coming out of the station Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook Get along well with others and be a team player Other duties will be assigned as needed Qualifications: At least 1 years of experience in a fast-pace, busy, high-volume restaurant! Must have night and weekend morning and afternoon availability Maintain all required health, sanitation, and alcohol service certificates Interpersonal skills Great, professional attitude, versatility in multi-changing enviroments. Basic food handling knowledge. This is an ideal position for someone who is dedicated to providing great service and is seeking to become a member of a hard-working and fun team! Physical Requirements: Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments Must be able to work 10-12 hour shifts with breaks.
