The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction and occupied renovations. This position will play a pivotal role in our company by providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for healthcare construction projects. You will be working closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that our projects are completed on time and within budget.Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates for healthcare construction projects at different stages, from conceptual to detailed design.Utilize construction estimating software such as WinEst, Revit, AutoCAD, and On-Screen Takeoff to prepare estimates.Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.Maintain document control, track and manage changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.Participate in proposal presentations and discussions with clients.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction and occupied renovations.Proven experience in project estimating.Proficient in construction estimating software such as WinEst, Revit, AutoCAD, and On-Screen Takeoff.Strong knowledge of document control processes.Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.Strong attention to detail with the ability to create accurate and detailed reports.Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work well in a team and independently.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.Experience in healthcare construction would be an advantage.A professional certification in estimating or a related field would be an asset.Interested in hearing more?
