Accountant PURPOSE The Accountant for The Fifty50 Restaurant Group-Corporate is responsible for the maintenance of those areas relating to the transactional accounting and financial reporting for the individual restaurants of the company. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate financial information. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities. The Accountant will have contact with corporate management staff, senior-level managers, vendors, other staff, and independent contractors. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES -Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's restaurant accounting structure and transactional entry process, and financial reporting. -Cooperates with other accounting department staff to support overall department goals and objectives -Execute daily accounting department requirements, including but not limited to, journal entries, recording cash activity and ensuring restaurant managers are properly coding and inputting bills -Review and analyze restaurant payable documentation provided for proper account coding, and an accurate payable total. -Assist the restaurant managers with the input and maintenance of their financial data. -Ensure and maintain the accurate and timely processing of vendor payable transactions. -Review, respond, and follow up promptly with any restaurant manager's question or concern. -Review, respond, and follow up with any outstanding Accounts Payable issues. -Ensure, and assist in the accurate and timely preparation of month-end reporting for each of the restaurants as assigned. -Responds to inquiries from the corporate management, restaurant managers, and vendors regarding financial transactional issues. -Advises supervisory management regarding the handling of non-routine accounting and reporting transactions, as well as office procedures and organization. -Assists in maintaining and organizing any of the department's documentation; including scanning, filing, electronically organized documents, etc. -Support and assist management with special projects and workflow process improvements, and other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education BS/BA in business administration. Technical Skills and Prior Experience Experience as a restaurant manager or has worked in a restaurant accounting position.
